    Sea transportation

Sea transportation is a popular and one of the most profitable ways of delivering goods by sea. This method of transportation is actively used in foreign economic activity.

This is an excellent delivery option when it is not possible to transport certain categories of cargo by other types of vehicles.

Types of ships for shipping by sea

Depending on the specifics of a specific product, sea freight transportation by Consolline specialists is carried out using the following vessels:

    • Cargo ships are a common type for international delivery of general cargo.
    • Container trucks — are used to transport goods packed in a standard ISO container.
    • Tankers — used during the transportation of petroleum products and other bulk cargoes.
    • Refrigerated ships are useful when transporting food, medicine and other goods for which it is important to maintain a specific temperature regime.

Taking into account the selected type of vessels, the final calculation of the cost of the sea delivery service takes place.

    Types of sea international transportation

International maritime logistics distinguishes the following types of goods transportation in containers:

    1. FCL (Full Container Load) — when goods from one customer are placed in one container (full container load).
    2. LCL (Less Container Load) – when there are goods from different customers in one container (as part of a collective load).

As a result, it will be possible to ensure a favorable ratio of costs and offered services for all customers.

    Advantages of sea transportation

The sea cargo transportation service has many advantages:
    1. Good prices compared to other modes of transport.
    2. The possibility of transporting even heavy, bulky types of cargo.
    3. Minimum damage to the environment compared to air and road transport.
That is why international sea transportation, as before, does not lose its relevance.

Features of international transportation of containers

Standard ISO containers with the following characteristics are used for sea container transportation:

    • length varies from 6 to 13 m
    • carrying capacity can be from 8 to 20 tons
    • ship capacity – 250-18,000 containers

Among the advantages of using containers are accelerated and simplified loading and unloading operations, as well as the ability to protect goods from the negative impact of external factors.

    Safety of sea transportation

All international transportation of containers can be called safe. Special attention is paid to the transportation of dangerous types of cargo, in accordance with current norms and rules. All this ensures the safety of the ship, crew, cargo and guarantees protection of the environment.
As a result, cargo loss or damage during transportation is dramatically reduced due to increased security. All containers are designed in such a way that they can be sealed and closed in transit, guaranteeing protection against hacking.

Transport sea logistics system from the Consolline team

Modern maritime logistics is a well-established system aimed at organizing the transportation of goods by sea. All necessary and mandatory processes are included in the logistics “chain”: storage, distribution of goods, delivery.
Today, container shipping is used all over the world, making it possible to transport bulky goods over long distances. Thanks to the large carrying capacity of the ships, it will be possible to transport a sufficient number of containers in one approach, making the delivery of a unit of cargo cheaper.
